I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving spent with family and friends. I am thankful to spend my days with your sweet babies! Thank you for sharing them with me J

December 3 – Deck the Halls of Highland . Please make plans to attend this event, as it is one of our most favorite traditions at HES! If you have not signed up for a time to work, please do so this week. Any questions, let me know.

This week we will read a book called Bear Snores On and we will discuss the difference between Fiction and Nonfiction. We will be learning about the letter Bb and our sight words are: six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Please work on the letter and sight words with your child this week. You will find practice on the homework, but feel free to do more! Homework serves as a guide and reinforcement, but you are not limited to only do the homework each day.
Math:
We will work on identifying numbers to 60 as well as writing them. Number flash cards are a great way to practice number identification with your child. We will also be working on learning “The Doubles Rap” to help us memorize doubles addition facts to 10. I will introduce adding +0 and +1 to numbers and you will see this on the homework as well.

Social Studies:
We will begin our “Christmas Around the World” unit this week. Each day, we will be learning about a different county and the traditions that country’s people honor for Christmas. This is always a favorite of the children! Right before Christmas Break we will have a day when we “travel” to the countries and either make a craft, play a game, or enjoy a snack. I will ask for parent volunteers this day, so make sure you have your background check completed so that you can participate! More info to come on this event.
